Prof. Dr. Murat Aksoy was born on September 11, 1970, in Istanbul, Turkey. He completed his primary and secondary education at Şişli Terakki Levent Primary School and Kadıköy Anatolian High School. In 1994, he graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, earning his medical degree. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1999.
In 2000, he began working as a specialist doctor in the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. Between 2004 and 2005, he worked for a year at the Henri Mondor Hospital in France, in the Department of Vascular and Endocrine Surgery, to advance his knowledge and skills in vascular surgery. In 2006, he successfully passed the examination organized by the Council of Higher Education and was awarded the title of Associate Professor.
Prof. Dr. Aksoy’s areas of interest include peripheral artery surgery, varicose veins, aneurysms, diabetic foot, endovascular surgery, and minimally invasive vascular surgery. He has published 33 international and 17 national articles, contributed to 9 international book chapters, and authored 4 Turkish books and chapters.
He also serves as an editor for the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Trauma journals. He is a member of several professional associations, including the Turkish Surgical Society, National Society of Vascular Surgery, Turkish Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, Phlebology Society, European Society for Vascular Surgery, and the International Society for Vascular Surgery.
